Background

CMP Information is the B2B communications division of United Business Media plc.  Business Area. Operating internationally, CMPi provides creative professional media solutions to around 20 industry sectors.

International Exhibitions Division

This Division is responsible for some of world´s largest exhibitions and events in Food Ingredients, Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Health & Beauty and the luxury yachting market. It organises Exhibitions and Events globally which include CPhI Worldwide, Fi Europe, Hi Europe, PMEC, Infromex and Seatrade.

In conjunction with the newly formed CMPi Conference Division, International Exhibitions is developing existing conference products and creating an extensive portfolio of new conferences through its leading exhibition brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Selling sponsorship for conferences and a variety of networking events.
  • Delivery of the sponsorship revenue target
  • Developing & maintaining a close working relationship with the IE Conference team
  • Collaboration with exhibition sales teams

Duties 

  • Senior level face to face selling
  • Lead generation
  • Contract negotiation
  • Maintaining & developing client relationships
  • New business development
  • Monthly/weekly reporting on progress/activity
  • Networking at industry events, exhibitions & awards
  • Creation & development (in conjunction with Conference Team) of high level sponsorship packages
  • Year on Year retention of key clients
  • Creation and implementation of sale strategies

Key Skills Required

  • Minimum 5 years media sales experience, preferably in conference sponsorship sales with at least 2 year´s face to face
  • Proven ability to deliver high ticket, high value sponsorship deals
  • Proven ability to build relationships at senior levels
  • Proven track record in achieving and exceeding targets
  • Proven track record in retaining key clients
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Creative and structured approach to selling
  • Self-motivated, professional and focused in all aspects of work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of the construction & architecture industry preferred but not essential
  • Ability to deliver techniques and strategies for client retention
  • Extensive experience of implementing sales strategies for large scale projects
